Site Requirements for Teton Hardware

Evaluate the following site infrastructure conditions when considering site readiness for the Teton system. For more detailed information, refer to the Technical Inspection Guide.

POWER

Teton Edge units installed in each room require a wired power connection to function. Ensure there is at least one available power outlet in each room that can be dedicated for use with the Teton units.

NETWORK

Teton units installed in each room at the site will require a strong and reliable network connection. The units require at least 20 Mbps upload and download speeds for sufficient data transfer. From the location of the dedicated power outlet in each room, ensure there is sufficient connection to at least one of the following:

  • Wi-Fi
  • Wired ethernet
  • Cellular LTE (Currently only available in the EU)

SENSING OBSTRUCTIONS

Teton utilizes ceiling mounted sensors in each room to collect resident status and insights. Ensure any furniture, lamps, and resident lift equipment that may exist in the rooms will not obstruct the sensor’s connection to the Edge unit or view of the room. If rooms are larger than 12 meters (40 feet) two (2) sensors may be required for proper coverage.

MOBILE DEVICES

Teton utilizes a mobile app to provide support for the staff. Confirm whether or not the site has mobile devices available to them and how many mobile devices they have. If limited or no mobile devices are available, identify this to your Teton contact. Ensure mobile devices are capable of downloading and accessing the Teton Alerts app from the app store.

CARE TEAM

Introducing Teton to the team involves coordinating the installation of the hardware equipment in each of the participating rooms, as well as onboarding training for the staff to become familiar with and feel comfortable using the Teton application. Ensure staff and leadership are engaged and enthusiastic towards the ongoing involvement to implement and learn the Teton system. Success with recent digital transformations is also beneficial.
