What does the sleep widget mean?

How to read the sleep widget/score

  • The sleep widget helps you monitor how well your residents are sleeping. The sensor understands whether a resident is sleeping by measuring their respiration and their body movements.
  • You can use this metric to assess the energy levels of a resident on a particular day, and track their sleep patterns over time to notice any changes or recurring patterns. This score takes into account:
    • Time spent in bed
    • Time spent asleep
    • Amount of wakeups
    • Amount of bed exits
    • Time to fall asleep

What sleep data can you get access to?

On the mobile and desktop you can both see a timeline of sleep over the past 24 hours, as well as a historical view of each resident’s sleep going as far back as the system can show you. Calm sleep is shown in purple, and restless sleep (where the resident is moving a lot is shown in pink).

At the top there is the overview of today’s sleep, below is the sleep from the previous week. You can see that the resident’s sleep cycle has been much more disturbed today than usual.

Navigating to sleep on the computer:

  1. Click on the resident to open their information panel
  2. The mini version of the sleep box will show you their sleep in the past 24 hours
  3. Click on the arrow to open up the panel and see long term sleep data

Making the Most of Sleep Data

Check the sleep widget at the start of your shift to understand:

  • How long your resident slept
  • Whether their sleep was restful
  • If their sleep pattern has changed
  • If they had any unusual wake periods

This information is especially helpful during handovers and for tracking how well new care strategies are working.
